Innovation in cotto cladding.
Supply and installation of a mixed “curtain wall” cladding: blind and bri soleil", composed of a mechanical steel / extruded raw aluminum fixing system and Sannini Impruneta terracotta elements, acid-washed and treated.
Secondary structure constituted of vertical sections of stainless steel / extruded raw aluminum placed with a max. inter-axis of 100 cm for those blind areas faced with Piastra and/or Doga with bevel and/or Triangolo Large, and of 150 cm for bri soleil areas realized with Triangolo Small.
The vertical profiles are bound to the support slabs and lower masonry by bearing and restraint brackets to be fixed by expansion bolts and chemical anchoring.
Horizontal omega and/or tubular profiles of stainless steel / extruded raw aluminum to be fixed on vertical sections through proper brackets in term to support the Cotto elements.
The cladding is realized with Cotto elements manufactured out of a special clay extracted from the Impruneta area, like "Piastra 50 mm bevelled", sizes of (l x h x t) 500 x 235 x 49 mm, having on the faces at sight a finish "Litos" and "Raw" on the rear side; "Doga bevelled", sizes of (l x h x t) 500 x 110 x 49 mm, having on the faces at sight a finish "Litos" and "Raw" on the rear side; "Triangolo Large", sizes of (l x h x t) 500 x 110 x 96 mm, having on the faces at sight a finish "Litos" and "Raw" on the rear side; "Triangolo Small", sizes of (l x h x t) 500 x 59,1 x 59,3 mm, having on the faces at sight a finish "Litos" and "Raw" on the rear side.
The Cotto elements have to be installed with vertical joints of 6 mm and inter-axis of 25 cm for "Piastra 50 mm bevelled" and of 12,5 cm for "Doga bevelled and Triangolo Large and Small", leaving a gap of about 8/10 cm between the back face of the cladding elements and the support wall.
Treatment: the external face of the Sannini Cotto element requires acid-washing by using a decalcifying acid solution for the removal of possible efflorescence and surface protection through the application of an impregnation on a siloxane micro-emulsion basis.
Extruded terracotta fired without any working processes on its surface.
Slightly striped finish obtained through the natural coloration of the salts moving towards the surface during the drying process, prior to firing.
Extruded terracotta with smooth “litos” surface and fullbody tobacco colouration.
The coloration is being obtained by mixing a composition of oxides into the clay, allowing a uniform colour penetration and distribution. All physical and mechanical characteristics remain unaltered.
