Our President Mr. Guido Francesco Poccianti and Arch. Paolo Desideri - Studio ABDR of Rome were interviewed by journalist Natascia Ronchetti for ILSOLE24 ORE. The article titled "The minor districts in upturn after years in slow motion" was published on September 16th as attachment to the newspaper dedicated to the Ceramic Industry.

”...................................... The cluster of terracotta is, after years of shrinking demand, back in vogue, driven by famous architects. A real rediscovery, supported by the characteristics of the product. "It 'a versatile material, eco-friendly, suitable to innovative design solutions," says Mr. Guido Francesco Poccianti, president of Sannini Impruneta, office and factory in the province of Florence, about fifty employees, 5 million in turnover, production destined for 40% abroad.
Important contracts in China have allowed the company to enter the Asian market through the main door. Beijing is now for Sannini the main point of reference for the expansion abroad. The ventilated facades above all, as the result of a productive differentiation, successfully implemented in response to the market contraction of traditional flooring. "Solutions which also offer energy savings of at least 20%," says Poccianti.
The floors of classic design maintain their appeal especially in Europe but it is the use flexibility of Tuscan Cotto to open new and unexpected perspectives, as well on domestic as on export markets. "It has all the characteristics to establish itself as a avant-garde material in the international architecture," says the architect Paolo Desideri, who signed the Tiburtina station in Rome and the new Opera Theatre in Florence, combining classic and modern, high-technology and historical tradition, and granting a primary role just to the Tuscan Cotto. "Sustainability, durability, capacity to protect from solar irradiation and beauty make it – adds Arch. Desideri - highly competitive."
