Externa is a system of modular terracotta elements dedicated to the great tradition of the Italian piazza, conceived as an architectural space and also as a tangible manifestation of constructional sapience and material culture.
A full range of elements is offered for the design of external areas, like up to 5 cm thick paving with a high resistance to vehicular traffic and frost, in different sizes with mechanical characteristics comparable to those of the best stone materials such as granite. Its pale colour together with its natural and very fine grain respond to the quest for a balanced relationship between man and his surroundings, stimulating innovative ideas both in contemporary and historical contexts, for public spaces as well as private residences.
Four basic sizes for paving, designed for laying with 8 mm joints and perfectly suitable for laying dry on sand. Thickness, shape and technical specifications such as absorption make the Externa series a unique material of its kind.
Due to its physical-technical characteristics, “Externa” is mainly designated to exteriors. Laying in freezing areas is allowed if the material is correctly installed and does not undergo any other surface treatment.
For inside use the material requires a protective treatment in order to preserve the material’s original aesthetic and physical characteristics and to maintain the tiles unaltered over the years.

After installation and grouting, acidwashing is requested to remove dirt, cement and efflorescences.
